In FNAF 6, Henry states that he didn't give Michael an escape route ("there was a way out planned for you") but did not do so because he figured Mike wanted to die. However, Henry himself was suicidal, and likely projected his own emotions onto Mike. I don't think Mike stayed put because he wanted to die, I think he just didn't know how to leave.
