  2. 26 de dez. de 2022 · Located on the south wall of the Capitol Records Building, Hollywood Jazz: 1945-1972 is a mural created by artist Richard Wyatt. The mural depicts legendary jazz musicians, Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Charlie Parker, Tito Puente, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Shelly Manne, Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday and Duke Ellington.

  3. Capitol Records is deeply saddened to share that acclaimed muralist Richard Wyatt Jr. (@richardwyattjr) passed away peacefully on May 17th. Richard’s impressive mural “Hollywood Jazz 1945 – 1972” has enhanced the city of Hollywood and the Capitol Records Tower for over 30 years, after being beautifully restored in 2012 to ensure its place at the home of music for decades to come.

That comes straight from Lou Naidorf, the longtime architect at the legendary Welton Becket and Associates firm who designed the 13-story building at 1750 Vine Street that has served as corporate headquarters of one of the music industry’s great labels while still in his early 20s.

The landmark building was designed by Jim Van Schaack’s friend, Louis Naidorf of Welton Becket Associates, the architectural firm that also designed the Music Center, Cinerama Dome, Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, and the department store that now houses the Petersen Automotive Museum.
