About The London Palladium . If we were going to pick one word to sum up the history of The London Palladium, it would have to be ‘variety’. With a very festive opening on Boxing Day 1910, the theatre burst onto the scene with the first ‘grand variety bill’ of its kind featuring acts as diverse as musical hall star Nellie Wallace and classical actor Martin Harvey.

I go to the London Palladium every year for their amazing panto, and was expecting this show to be on the same level. It wasn't. I agree with Annie W's review, where she says she couldn't connect with Dorothy. Brilliant voice, and obviously talented, but nothing like the Dorothy you've seen in the movie for the past 60 years.

The London Palladium's first book musical was Golden Boy (1968), starring Sammy Davis Jr, which paved the way for an endless stream of musical theatre.
