Biography. The son of Robin Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 8th Marquess of Londonderry (1902–1955) and his wife, the former Romaine Combe (died 1951), Alexander Charles Robert Vane-Tempest-Stewart was known as "Alastair". He was educated at Ludgrove School. [2] When the 8th Marquess died in 1955, Alastair became the 9th Marquess at age 18.

Charles Stewart Vane-Tempest-Stewart, VII marchese di Londonderry (Londra, 13 maggio 1878 – Down, 10 febbraio 1949), è stato un nobile e politico britannico.
