I wouldn’t be surprised if the 2019 film “Knives Out” was particularly influenced by “Dumb Witness,” as it likewise features a loyal servant receiving all the money in a will rather than the bickering relatives.

In it, she pays homage to her beloved dog, Peter, by making Bob, a wire-haired terrier, the much loved pet of the elderly, wealthy, and ultimately unfortunate Emily Arundell.
