If you are looking to read deeper into a poet that at times expressed the disconnection between feeling and reality, then I would read work by Sylvia Plath (who also explored the other end of the spectrum how encompassing and fatalistic emotions can be). Here's one of hers: Mirror by Sylvia Plath. In that vein, perhaps look into confessional poets.
