The first stone of a new school, now called St. Joseph’s, was laid by Fr. Scully, S.J., the Chaplain, on November 11 th 1887. This school stands near the Fairview Road, now a fine thoroughfare, with the reclaimed “sloblands” forming a park between it and the Northern Railway embankment.
Like all good books or magazines, this book does exactly what its title indicates, that is, celebrates 125 years of the history of a famous Northside Dublin school, namely St Joseph's, Fairview. It was originally called The Marino School, then St. Joseph's Marino and nowadays St Joseph's Fairview.
