O Trentino-Alto Ádige (em italiano Trentino-Alto Adige, em alemão Trentino-Südtirol, em ladino-dolomita Trentin-Südtirol) é uma região situada no extremo norte da Itália. Tem mais de um milhão de habitantes e uma área de 13 607 km². A capital é Trento (em alemão Trient ).
The region is composed of two provinces, Trentino in the south and South Tyrol in the north. Trentino has an area of 6,207 km 2 (2,397 sq mi), most of it mountainous land (20% is over 2,000 m (6,600 ft) and 70% over 1,000 m) and covered by vast forests (50% of the territory).

Trentino and South Tyrol constitute the region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, an autonomous region under the constitution. [3] . The province is composed of 166 comuni ( sg.: comune ). [4] . Its capital is the city of Trento (Trent). The province covers an area of more than 6,000 km 2 (2,300 sq mi), with a total population of 541,098 in 2019.
The Governatorato included the present-day region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and the three Ladin communes of Cortina, Colle Santa Lucia and Livinallongo, today in the Province of Belluno. The northern part of Tyrol, comprising North Tyrol and East Tyrol, became what is today one of the nine federal states of Austria.
