The apparent similarity to freeze is what leads some to think squoze is correct. However, I've only ever heard it in a jocular vein, a weak attempt at humour. A smile uses the lips (and other face muscles). A big smile may show the teeth, because the mouth is partly open. A smaller smile hides the teeth, since the mouth is closed.

I would venture that the preponderance of uses you'll find are third person: "She was x's squeeze" ... not "x is my squeeze" or "I am x's squeeze."
