Lauren Hough [pronunciation?] (born April 11, 1977) is an American equestrian. She was born in Goshen, New York. She competed in team jumping at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Personal life. Hough is the adopted daughter of equestrian Charles Hough Jr..
A three-time Pan American medalist who is currently ranked among the top 50 riders in the world, Lauren has represented Team USA at the Olympic Games and World Equestrian Games, in addition to seven FEI World Cup Final appearances. Lauren was a member of the 2000 Sydney Olympic squad.

Hidden between the green and gold of the surrounding Northern California foothills, Lauren’s riding career began at Sutton Place, her parents’ riding stable. It is no surprise that Lauren was riding before she could walk. She comes from a long lineage of equestrians.
She was also a four-time Pan American Games medalist, winning a gold medal in 2003 team jumping, and bronze medals in 2007 and 2015 team jumping, and an individual jumping bronze in 2015. She also competed multiple times at the World Equestrian Games and seven times at the FEI World Cup Final.
