The UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) takes UK armed forces aircrew from initial training through elementary, basic, and advanced flying training phases, preparing them for their arrival at their designated operational aircraft units.
This is a list of schools within the Royal Air Force, including the empire flying training scheme, civilian and service elementary training schemes, and gliding schools.
No. 3 Flying Training School is a Royal Air Force military training school, which manages elementary flying training for the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force and also for the training of all non-pilot aircrew for the RAF and is home to the Central Flying School Tutor Squadron.
Remotely Piloted Aircraft System. If you are streamed to Pilot (ISR) RPAS, after elementary flying training you will complete pre-employment training and then a 13 week Basic Phase. On successful completion you will be awarded your flying badge and then progress to the Advanced Phase, 6 weeks.
The School is responsible for Elementary Flying Training (EFT) and Multi-Engine Pilot Training (MEPT), including Mission Crew (Fixed wing and ISTAR) and Remotely Piloted Air Systems, for all of the three UK armed forces.
