Edison High School is a public high school located in Huntington Beach, California which first began operation in 1969. It is a part of the Huntington Beach Union High School District. Edison is a California Distinguished School. The graduation rate at Edison is 94%.

History. Edison High School opened in 1956 as the district's first secondary school. [7] . By the start of the 1957–58 school year, the school was holding double sessions for students in grades seven through ten. [8] . J. P.
Awards and recognition. Edison High School has been consistently recognized as one of the country's top high schools in Newsweek magazine's rankings since their inception, which are based on the number of Advanced Placement Program (AP) exams.
However, since the Southern California Edison Company donated much of the land the school was built on, the final decision was to go with Edison High School. Green and gold were selected as the colors to represent one of the finest new schools in California.
An International Baccalaureate World School and Middle Years Programme School, Edison emphasizes individualized, rigorous learning for all students. Edison is the future home of the Northeast Career and Technical Education Center, offering real-world skills in business, law and public safety, and agriculture.
