Thouars (pronounced) is a commune in the Deux-Sèvres department in western France. On 1 January 2019, the former communes Mauzé-Thouarsais, Missé and Sainte-Radegonde were merged into Thouars. It is on the River Thouet. Its inhabitants are known as Thouarsais. The Toarcian stage of the Jurassic takes its name from the town.

Thouars is a step on the Vélo Francette cycling route, between Saumur and Niort . Get around. edit. The historical center can be visited by foot. The city is also enjoyable by bicycle, with a few hard slopes along the Thouet river valley. Cars won't have any issue finding parking space.
