Storm King Mountain is a mountain on the west bank of the Hudson River just south of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York. Together with Breakneck Ridge on the opposite bank of the river it forms "Wey-Gat" or Wind Gate, the picturesque northern narrows of the Hudson Highlands.

Storm King State Park is a 1,972-acre (7.98 km 2) state park in Orange County, New York. The park is in the southeast part of the Town of Cornwall, next to the Hudson River. A central feature of the park is Storm King Mountain.
15 de jun. de 2023 · Shortly after you cross under the overpass for Angola Road, you’ll begin climbing a large hill. At the crest of the hill, on your left, you’ll see the trailhead for Storm King Mountain, which looks like a scenic pulloff with room for about 20 cars.
On September 27, 1962, Consolidated Edison announced in the New York Times their plans to build a hydroelectric power plant at Storm King Mountain in Cornwall. Although the announcement made few waves at the time, the publication of an artist's rendering got the public's attention.
Storm King State Park offers unsurpassed views of the Catskills and the Hudson Valley. Hikers and hunters enjoy this undisturbed green space. Park is undeveloped. There are no toilets and limited parking. Dogs only, must be on a leash not more than 6 feet.
22 de jul. de 2023 · Storm King Mountain and State Park are located in Cornwall on the Hudson in upstate New York. This is pretty close to Fish Kill/Poughkeepsie and Beacon, NY. It is a great day trip to take from New York City, as it is only about an hour and a half north of NYC.
