Lachine (French pronunciation:) is a borough (arrondissement) within the city of Montreal on the Island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It was founded as a trading post in 1669. Developing into a parish and then an autonomous city, it was merged as a municipality into Montreal in 2002.

Established in 1667, Lachine is one of the first three parishes on the island of Montréal. Situated upstream of the Rapides de Lachine, it became a key location for the fur trade. Indigenous peoples have been present on the territory for 2,000 years.

7 de fev. de 2006 · Lachine. The development of the Lachine Canal in the 1820s, the establishment of the Montreal and Lachine Railroad in 1847, and the expansion of the trucking business in the 20th century gave Lachine a major role in the trade network extending to southwestern Canada and the US.
Lachine Canal National Historic Site. The Lachine Canal is an iconic jewel located in the southwest of Montreal. Its 13.5-kilometre path runs between the Old Port and Lake Saint-Louis. The navigable waterway, the green urban park lined with industrial vestiges and the various activities on its banks make this site a great place to share.
