Sir Edward Guildford (alternative spelling Guilford; c. 1474 – 1534) was an English courtier and Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports and Marshal of Calais in 1519. Upon his father's death in 1506, he inherited his father's position as Master of the Armoury for life.
Guilford was elected a member of the Society of Experimental Psychologists in 1937, and in 1938 he became the third president of the Psychometric Society, following in the footsteps of its founder Louis Leon Thurstone and of Edward Thorndike, who held the position in 1937.
Lord Guildford Dudley (also spelt Guilford) (c. 1535 – 12 February 1554) was an English nobleman who was married to Lady Jane Grey. She occupied the English throne from 10 July until 19 July 1553, having been declared the heir of King Edward VI.

30 de mar. de 2017 · Dudley’s wardship was granted to Sir Edward Guilford, whilst his mother remarried. Both events were positive for John – the Guilford family were in high favour and his new step-father was none other than Arthur Plantagenet, the King’s half-uncle. Guilford was Master Armourer to the King and gave Dudley excellent military training.

Há 1 dia · Edward I, his son and grandson, and Edward IV and Richard III were all at Guildford in the course of their reigns, either in the castle or in the manor-house in the park, probably the former. In 1337 Robert of Artois was to be lodged in the king's house in the castle, and to be allowed to hunt in the park.
Dudley himself became the ward of Sir Edward Guilford. He probably took up residence in the Guilford household in Halden, near Tenterden, in Kent where he was brought up alongside Sir Edward’s daughter, Jane, to whom he was married in around 1524.
