It is 1 mile (2 km) south of the village of Eccleston, in Cheshire, England. The house is surrounded by its own formal gardens, parkland, farmland and woodland.

  3. Eaton Hall is the home of the Duke of Westminster and the Duchess of Westminster and lies just south of the village of Eccleston and is separated from the village of Aldford by the River Dee. The Eaton Estate covers 10,000 acres, with farmland , extensive gardens and a number of fountains and sculptures.

  4. Completed in 1881, the new Eaton Hall typified the enormous wealth wielded by the Victorian super-rich. This was the age of the vast house parties where guests would bring their staff and be entertained on a lavish scale. The entire Eaton estate extended (and still is) over 11,000 acres (approximately just over 17 square miles).

  5. Introduction. Eaton Hall has an 18th and 19th-century landscape park which at its most extensive was around 500 hectares, within an estate of about 4400 hectares. This is now in divided use. There is a deer park and woodlands, as well as late-19th and early-20th century formal gardens of around 20 hectares.
