Cuttack (/ ˈ k ʌ t ə k / ⓘ, or officially Kataka in Odia [ˈkɔʈɔkɔ]), is the former capital and the second largest city in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the headquarters of the Cuttack district .

Cuttack is the second-largest city in the state of Odisha and the headquarters of the Cuttack District. Its history goes back a 1,000 years and that is why it is also known as the Millennium City. Sometimes it is referred to as Silver City because of the beautiful filigree works made here.
