Carlton House, sometimes Carlton Palace, was a mansion in Westminster, best known as the town residence of King George IV, particularly during the regency era and his time as prince regent. It faced the south side of Pall Mall, and its gardens abutted St James's Park in the St James's district of London.

Wilburn Carlton Weddington is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 27th District. He resigned his Ohio House seat after his indictment on bribery and ethics charges in March 2012, the first sitting state legislator in Ohio indicted for bribery in 100 years.
Once George IV succeeded to the throne, he lost interest in Carlton House, turning his attentions instead to Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Many of the contents, including the architectural features, were stripped out and moved to other royal palaces.

The history of Carlton House, the shortest-lived and yet the most tasteful and exquisite of London’s vanished royal residences, began in 1709 when the Royal Gardens, which were on the southern side of Pall Mall, were leased by the Crown to Henry Boyle, who was created Lord Carlton in 1714.
