Christ Church, one of the largest colleges of Oxford University, is strongly committed to teaching and research. It is unique among Oxford colleges in that it also contains the Cathedral of the Oxford diocese, which doubles as the college chapel.
O Christ Church College é um dos mais antigos e prestigiados colégios da Universidade de Oxford. Fundado pelo Cardeal Thomas Wolsey em 1524 como Cardinal’s College, foi mais tarde rebaptizado Christ Church após o seu restabelecimento pelo Rei Henrique VIII em 1546.
Founded in 1546 by King Henry VIII, the college is uniquely a joint foundation of the university and the cathedral of the Oxford diocese, Christ Church Cathedral, which also serves as the college chapel and whose dean is ex officio the college head.
Christ Church is home to a really welcoming and vibrant community of students and staff living in one of the most beautiful colleges in Oxford. Students at Christ Church can live in college accommodation throughout their degree and are lucky enough to eat subsidised meals in the famous (Harry Potter) dining hall.
