The Old Permic alphabet was created in 1372 by the Russian missionary, Stephan Khrap (Степан Храп / Стефан Пермский) (1340-1396), who became St Stephen of Perm. It was modelled on the Greek and Cyrillic alphabets, and the Komi religious "Tamga signs".
