In the Japanese version, the word "shine" is mispronounced as "shrine". Thus, Shine Sprites are called "Shrine Sprites" and the Shine Gateis called the "Shrine Gate". Mario has some dialogue in the Japanese version which was removed in the Western versions.
Island and location names
The Japanese version has different names for some of the locations: 1. Isle Delfinois called Dolphic Island and Delfino Isle. 2. Delfino Airstripis simply named Airport. 3. Delfino Plazais named Dolphic Town. 4. Gelato Beachis named Mamma Beach. 5. Noki Bayis named Mare Bay. 6. Pianta Villageis named Monte Village.
