1998 - present. Elizabeth Irene Mitchell, better known by Elizabeth Banks, is an American actress, producer and director. Banks made her film debut in the low-budget independent film Surrender Dorothy (1998).
She also had recurring roles on the comedy series Scrubs (2006–2009) and Modern Family (2009–2020), the latter of which earned her a third Primetime Emmy Award nomination.

Sally “Sal” is one of Mitchell and Cameron 's closest friends. She is flamboyant but wild and bigoted. Sal also loves to drink. It is frequently noted that she despises Mitchell and Cameron's daughter Lily mainly because the couple started to spend less time with Sal after they adopted her.
Elizabeth Banks returns as Sal and best friend of Mitchell and Cameron. Banks definitely adds much to this great episode. You will not be disappointed in watching Fight or Flight.
Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) call their party-girl friend, Sal (Elizabeth Banks), for a night on the town but the results of the night are decidedly mixed when Sal starts making some comments about Lily that scare Cam and Mitchell.
