Sir David Courtney Suchet CBE (/ ˈ s uː ʃ eɪ / SOO-shay; born 2 May 1946) is an English actor known for his work on stage and in television. He portrayed Edward Teller in the television serial Oppenheimer (1980) and received the RTS and BPG awards for his performance as Augustus Melmotte in the British serial The Way We Live Now (2001).

Sir David Suchet CBE (born 2 May 1946 in London) is an English actor. He mainly works on British television. He has been in many films over the years. He is perhaps best known for playing Hercule Poirot in the series Agatha Christie's Poirot. [1]
David Suchet was cast as the eponymous role Hercule Poirot. He was portrayed, especially in the earlier series, alongside Hugh Fraser as the closest friend of Poirot, Captain Arthur Hastings, as well as Pauline Moran playing Poirot’s clever secretary Felicity Lemon and Philip Jackson depicting Poirot’s long-standing associate Inspector James Japp .
