Geschichte. Die Band wurde 1992 von Adam Gontier, Neil Sanderson, Brad Walst, Phil Crowe und Joe Grant in Norwood, Ontario, Kanada unter dem Namen Groundswell gegründet. Drei Jahre später wurde das Album Wave of Popular Feeling mit einer Auflage von gerade einmal 150 Kopien veröffentlicht.
Formed in 1992 as the band Groundswell, they consisted of Adam Gontier (vocals, rhythm guitar), Neil Sanderson (drums, backing vocals), Brad Walst (Bass, occasional backing vocals), Phil Crowe (Guitar) and Joe Grant (Guitar), all attending high school at the time.

A banda Groundswell foi formada pelo vocalista Adam Gontier, o baterista Neil Sanderson, o baixista Brad Walst, o guitarrista Phil Crowe e o guitarrista Joe Grant. A maioria dos membros estavam cursando o ensino médio quando a banda foi formada em Norwood, Ontário, em 1992.
