Biografia. Solomon Burke nasceu na Filadélfia, Pensilvânia, em 1940. De família muito religiosa, ele frequentou os cultos desde a infância. Sua estreia musical foi no coro da igreja quando tinha nove anos, logo depois estava pregando e cantando.
