Pierre Marie Félix Janet (French:; 30 May 1859 – 24 February 1947) was a pioneering French psychologist, physician, philosopher, and psychotherapist in the field of dissociation and traumatic memory. He is ranked alongside William James and Wilhelm Wundt as one of the founding fathers of psychology.

Philosophe et psychiatre français. Neveu du philosophe Paul Janet qui l'orienta vers la philosophie, Pierre Janet entra à l'École normale supérieure et fut reçu à l'agrégation en 1882. Professeur aux lycées de Châteauroux puis du Havre, il soutient, en 1889, sa thèse de doctorat en lettres ( L'Automatisme psychologique ).
