The Frans Hals Museum (formerly Stedelijk Museum van Haarlem) is a museum in the North Holland city of Haarlem, the Netherlands, founded in 1862, known as the Art Museum of Haarlem. Its collection is based on the city's own rich collection, built up from the 16th century onwards.

The Frans Hals Museum is one museum in two locations; the Frans Hals Museum (Groot Heiligland 62) features the world’s biggest collection of Frans Hals paintings together with Haarlem’s 16th- and 17th-century, modern and contemporary art.
Frans Hals (Antwerp, 1582/1583 – Haarlem, 1666), together with Rembrandt and Vermeer, is one of the three greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age. He mainly painted genre scenes and portraits, and is best known for his free, painterly brushstroke.
