Oficial e político egípcio, de nome completo Mohamed Anwar el-Sadat, nasceu em 1918, em Mit Abu al-Kum, e foi assassinado em 1981, no Cairo. Formou-se na Academia Militar em 1938. Esteve envolvido no golpe de 1952 que derrubou o rei Faruk I e que conduziu à implantação da república.
