Ian Millar CM (born January 6, 1947) is a Canadian Equestrian Team athlete for show jumping. He is a two-time winner of the Show Jumping World Cup, and an Olympic silver medalist. Due to his longevity and accomplishments, he is often nicknamed "Captain Canada" in his sport.
Millar, a horse trainer and breeder based in Ontario, enjoyed a personal best in the individual round after riding Star Power to ninth place at Greenwich Park. In the team event he helped Canada to fifth spot with teammates Jill Henslewood and Eric Lamaze.
18 de set. de 2011 · Biography. At London 2012, Ian Millar set a record by becoming the first athlete in any sport, from any nation, to compete in 10 Olympic Games. It was in London that he achieved his best-ever individual Olympic performance with a top-10 finish riding Star Power.
Biography. Ian Millar, a member of the Canadian equestrian team since 1971, has become one of the most decorated and renowned Canadian competitors in the sport. On the national level he has captured ten Canadian Show Jumping Championships (1983, 1986-1991, 1993, 2004, and 2007) and won more grand prix and derby events than any North American.
