Fulda American High School (FAHS) was a Department of Defense Dependents School (DoDDS) at Downs Barracks in Fulda, Germany. It provided education for the children of United States military, government and civilian personnel from 1983 until the military installation was closed in 1994.

The U.S. military’s Cold War-era mission there was to defend a mountain pass that was strategically important: the Fulda Gap. It was there that the Russians would most likely come through to the West in case of an invasion.
There were six original high schools: Berlin-Bears, Bremerhaven-Blackhawks, Heidelberg-Lions, Munich-Mustangs, Nuremberg-Tigers (later Eagles) & Frankfurt all of which are closed.
