Jules-Fernand-Henri Léger (Argentan, Orne, 4 de fevereiro de 1881 — Gif-sur-Yvette, 17 de agosto de 1955) foi um pintor francês que se distinguiu como pintor e desenhador cubista, autor de muitas litografias. Nascido na Baixa-Normandia, iniciou a sua formação artística aos catorze anos, sendo aprendiz de um arquitecto em Caen.

Léger spent the immediate postwar years developing the mechanical style he had begun to explore on the front lines as a means of suggesting the dynamic pace of a technologically driven modern age. In The Bargeman of 1918 ( 1999.363.35 ), his Cubist vocabulary has become more legible.
Fernand Léger était fils d’Henri Armand Léger (1846-1884), éleveur de bestiaux à Argentan, et de Marie Adèle Daunou (1852-1922). Il se maria avec Jeanne Lohy (1895-1950) en 1919, et, après la mort de cette dernière, se remaria avec Nadia Khodossievitch (1904 -199 ?), elle-même peintre, en 1952.
