Best of Cream reached No. 3 in the Billboard charts at the same time that Blind Faith was at the top. The cover art for the album was created by photographer Bob Seidemann, a personal friend and former flatmate of Clapton, who is known primarily for his photos of Janis Joplin and the Grateful Dead.

It shows a naked 11-year-old London girl holding a model spaceship. The concept and photography for this cover was developed by American graphic artist and photographer Bob Seidemann.
After the opening acts Third Ear Band, Richie Havens, Donovan and the Edgar Broughton Band, Blind Faith came on stage at 5 p.m., facing 120,000 people primed to love whatever was presented from this “supergroup.”. Baker, according to Clapton, infuriated him by showing up high on heroin.
