16 de jun. de 2021 · The Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in east China's Zhejiang Province has been the world's largest port by cargo tonnage for 12 years, with cargo handling capacity of nearly 1.2 billion tonnes in 2020. But now, it is set to further expand once its new terminal, Meishan Port Area, is finished.

The disruption comes at a time when global supply chains are being stretched by a resurgence in consumer demand and shipping delays.

The port’s container volume ranks third highest in the world. The port also recorded a cargo throughput of over 1.25 billion tonnes in 2022, ranking first in the world for 14 consecutive years.
