Miles Davis Kind of Blue (1959) #1 Predictable choice for #1 but I don't care. It's perfect. It's difficult to write about music in general (dancing about architecture etc) but particularly this album. I think most people who hear it for the first time have a tendency to think, as I did, "so...this is it?" It's extremely subtle and unassuming.
Genres: Post-Bop, Modal Jazz. Rated #87 in the best albums of 1968, and #5517 of all time album..
