Eagle House celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2020, making it one of the oldest Prep Schools in the country. At the time of its foundation by Joseph Railton in 1820, Eagle House kept boys “until they went into the world”.

Welcome to the Eagle House School digital archive, made possible by a generous donation from the Old Eagle House Society. Although the school was created in 1820 the initial stages of the digitising of the archives has covered 1904 to 2004 focusing on the school magazines and photographs.

Following the purchase of Eagle House from Dr. Greatrex the building was used as a Girls’ Boarding School. There were many private boarding schools in Eccleshall at the time, contributing to the prosperity of the Town.
