Rothbart is the central antagonist of The Swan Princess. He is an evil sorcerer, who is 49, and he mastered the Forbidden Arts twice and he always dreams of marrying Odette so that he can conquer King William 's kingdom and he's the brother of king William.
Sir Rothbart, also known as Lord Rothbart, The Great Animal, or simply Rothbart for short is the main antagonist of The Swan Princess film series. He’s a despicable enchanter who assassinated King William and was responsible for kidnapping and changing his daughter, Princess Odette into a swan.

Sir Rothbart, an evil court warlock, looks on and is unconcerned about the birth of the new princess. He plans to overtake William's kingdom by means of the Forbidden Arts. But before he can have the chance to strike, William's guards attack and Rothbart's powers are plunged into darkness.
Rothbart is keeping Odette captive at Swan Lake. To make her unable to leave, he has cast a powerful spell that turns Odette into a swan during the day. She can temporarily return to her true form at night if she stands on the lake when the moonlight touches it.
