Big Jake is a 1971 American Technicolor Western film starring John Wayne, Richard Boone and Maureen O'Hara. The picture was the final film for George Sherman in a directing career of more than 30 years, and Maureen O'Hara's last film with John Wayne and her last before her twenty-year retirement.

7 de jul. de 2021 · What made Big Jake remarkable was his size, an astonishing 6’10 ¾” (nearly 20.3 hands!) tall at the withers. The Belgian draft’s size was enough to land him in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s tallest living horse, a title he held for 11 years.
5 de jul. de 2021 · The world’s tallest horse has died in Wisconsin. WMTV reported Monday, July 5, 2021, that the 20-year-old Belgian named “Big Jake” died several weeks ago. Big Jake lived on Smokey Hollow Farm in Poynette. Big Jake was 6-foot-10 and weighed 2,500 pounds.
