As we approach a hundred years of educational excellence in São Paulo, St. Paul’s is a school with eyes on the future. We draw on our proud heritage, traditions and values as a world class overseas British school, the first in Latin America to be recognised as such by the UK government, yet we look forward with imagination and confidence.
In the following decade, in response to a demand for preparation for university entrance in Brazil and overseas, the school registered with São Paulo education authorities as the Escola Britânica de São Paulo and introduced the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Decisions concerning admissions are made by a committee of teachers and senior leaders appointed by the Headmaster, also bearing in mind the following: International pupils moving to the city. Family connections to the United Kingdom or engaged with the British community in São Paulo. Children with siblings already attending St. Paul’s School.

Escola Britânica de São Paulo – St. Paul’s School has been accredited by the State of São Paulo since 1982 as a bilingual bicultural school. This means that all requirements set by Federal Law 9394/96 are met and that pupils have their studies recognised in Brazil, according to the year correspondence table below.
