William John Clifton Haley (Highland Park, 6 de julho de 1925 - Harlingen, 9 de fevereiro de 1981), [1] também conhecido como Bill Haley, foi um músico de rock and roll. Ele é creditado por muitos o primeiro a popularizar este tipo de música no início dos anos 1950 com seu grupo Bill Haley & His Comets e a canção " Rock Around the Clock ".

Early life and career. Haley was born July 6, 1925, in Highland Park, Michigan. In 1929, the four-year-old Haley underwent an inner-ear mastoid operation which accidentally severed an optic nerve, leaving him blind in his left eye for the rest of his life.
Bill Haley & His Comets was an American rock and roll band formed in 1947 and continuing until Haley's death in 1981. The band was also known as Bill Haley and the Comets and Bill Haley's Comets. From late 1954 to late 1956, the group recorded nine Top 20 singles, one of which was number one and three that were Top Ten.
