Morgan Brenda Christen (born December 5, 1961) is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as a U.S. circuit judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She previously served as a state court judge on the Alaska Supreme Court from 2009 to 2012 and on the Alaska Superior Court from 2002 to 2009.
Morgan Brenda Christen is a federal judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. She joined the court in 2011 after a nomination from President Barack Obama. At the time of her nomination, she was a justice on the Alaska Supreme Court, a post she held from 2009 until her confirmation. [1] [2]
In August 2012, Maasseen was appointed by Governor Sean Parnell to the Alaska Supreme Court to replace Justice Morgan Christen, who was elevated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. [2] [3] In November 2022, he was named Chief Justice of the Alaska Supreme Court, succeeding Daniel Winfree.
Judge Morgan Christen was appointed to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in January of 2012. She currently serves on the Ninth Circuit’s Judicial Council, the Ninth Circuit’s Executive Committee, the Circuit Conference Executive Committee, the Public Information Community Outreach Committee, and the Pacific Island Committee.

Kleinfeld, (also an Alaskan), during an investiture ceremony at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage. Alaska Senators Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski also attended.
