Assunção (em castelhano: Asunción, pronunciado: [asunˈsjon]) é a capital e a maior cidade do Paraguai. A cidade fica na margem oriental do rio Paraguai, quase na confluência com o rio Pilcomayo. O rio e a Baía de Assunção, no noroeste, separam a cidade da região ocidental do Paraguai e da Argentina, no sul da cidade.
