Sir Henry Ashurst, 2nd Baronet (c. 1670–1732), of Waterstock House, Waterstock, Oxfordshire was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1715 to 1722. Ashurst was the only surviving son of Sir Henry Ashurst, 1st Baronet, MP of Waterstock and his wife Diana Paget, daughter of William Paget, 6th Lord Paget. [1]

Biography. An important figure in Nonconformist circles, with strong links to the American colonies, Ashurst was lauded by one Dissenter as ‘blessed with an inquisitive genius, a noble freedom of thought, and a generous love of truth’.
