Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy ( pronunciation ⓘ) is an Indian musical trio consisting of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa. [1] They have composed music for over 50 soundtracks across five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and English.

The album has a universal sound, unlike other Bollywood soundtracks of the time. The trio had various influences, including Irish and ethno. Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy along with Farhan Akhtar, Javed Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani went to Khandala to finalize the songs, which took a mere three and a half days.
Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy composed the music while the lyrics were penned by Javed Akhtar. [4] Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna released worldwide on 11 August 2006 to mixed reviews from critics, with varied responses to its subject matter, direction and screenplay.
