Peter II Karađorđević ( Serbian Cyrillic: Петар II Карађорђевић, romanized : Petar II Karađorđević; 6 September 1923 – 3 November 1970) was the last king of Yugoslavia, reigning from October 1934 until he was deposed in November 1945. He was the last reigning member of the Karađorđević dynasty .

King Peter II, who had escaped into exile, was still recognized as King of the whole state of Yugoslavia by the Allies. From 13 May 1941, the largely Serb guerilla force, Chetniks ("Yugoslav Army of the Fatherland", Jugoslovenska vojska u otadžbini , or JVUO) resisted the Axis occupation of Yugoslavia and supported Peter II.
The Yugoslav coup d'état took place on 27 March 1941 in Belgrade, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, when the regency led by Prince Paul of Yugoslavia was overthrown and King Peter II fully assumed monarchical powers.
