Nora Brooks Blakely (born September 8, 1951) is a literary editor and agent. She is the president of Brooks Permissions, [2] a permissions firm that manages the use of literary works by Gwendolyn Brooks and other authors.

Nora Blakely Brooks is a playwright, director and educator who founded Chocolate Chips Theatre Company in Chicago. She is also the daughter of Gwendolyn Brooks and the founder of Brooks Permissions, a company that manages her mother's legacy.
In 1939, Brooks married Henry Lowington Blakely, Jr., whom she met after joining Chicago's NAACP Youth Council. They had two children: Henry Lowington Blakely III, and Nora Brooks Blakely. Brooks' husband died in 1996.
Nora Brooks Blakely, a former teacher, founded Chocolate Chips Theatre Company (1982-2011) and was its primary playwright. The daughter of two writers, Henry Blakely ( Windy Place ) and Gwendolyn Brooks ( the first Black person to ever win the Pulitzer Prize ).
