Houses. Mill Hill School is divided into houses. These are: Boarding houses. Burton Bank – Named to commemorate its original position on Burton Hole Lane; Collinson – Named after Peter Collinson, who once owned what is now the estate
The House System. A special feature of life for all pupils at Mill Hill School is their membership of a House. There are eight Day Houses in the school and four Boarding Houses – each House has an average of 20 pupils in a year group.
Mill Hill is a suburb in the London Borough of Barnet, England. It is situated around 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Charing Cross, close to the Hertfordshire border. It was in the historic county of Middlesex until 1965, when it became part of Greater London. Its population was 18,451 in 2011.

Nonconformist Mill Hill School was founded in 1807 in Ridgeway House (now demolished, blue plaque), one-time residence of the famous 18th century botanist Peter Collinson. The main school building (completed 1827) was designed by Sir William Tite, architect of the Royal Exchange in the City.
The Mill Hill Missionaries ( MHM ), officially known as the Saint Joseph's Missionary Society of Mill Hill ( Latin: Societas Missionariorum S. Mill Hill International is a coeducational independent day and boarding school located in Mill Hill, North London and forms part of the Mill Hill School Foundation, close to the main Mill Hill School site. Boarding houses are shared with Mill Hill pupils, and the international pupils have full use of the Senior School’s facilities.
