Emily Sophia Wedgwood Benn (born 4 October 1989) is an English politician, who has represented the Ward of Bread Street on the Court of Common Council of the City of London since 2022. [1] Benn unsuccessfully contested both the 2010 and 2015 UK general elections as a Labour Party parliamentary candidate.

Benn's granddaughter Emily Benn was the Labour Party's youngest-ever candidate when she failed to win East Worthing and Shoreham in 2010. Benn was a first cousin once removed of the actress Margaret Rutherford. Benn and his wife Caroline became vegetarian in 1970, for ethical reasons, and remained so for the rest of their lives.
Professionally, she has been an investment banker, think tank director, festival director, and researcher at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She was elected onto the City of London Corporation in 2022, and is a councillor for Bread Street Ward.

Emily Sophia Wedgewood Benn, standing as an independent, won a seat in the Bread Street ward, picking up 105 votes. Giles Shilson, another independent, picked up the second highest tally with 84 votes.
