Chu Ishikawa (石川忠, Ishikawa Chū, 6 February 1966 – 21 December 2017) was a Japanese composer and musician, best known for creating the soundtracks of many films by Shinya Tsukamoto and Takashi Miike. He also founded industrial music groups Der Eisenrost and Zeitlich Vergelter.
Through an acquaintance, Tsukamoto found a tape by a group titled Zeitlich Vergelter led by the musician Chu Ishikawa. Ishikawa had never scored a film before but felt excited to work with Tsukamoto after meeting with him and being intrigued by his personality.

It was just reported on the official Der Eisenrost fb page, that Chu Ishikawa the internationally renowned industrial music legend died on the 21st of December. While he was mostly known for his soundtracks, Ishikawa, born in 1966, was actually a key player in Japan’s industrial and experimental music scene.
