Construction of the Basilica di Santa Chiara began a year after Clare's canonization, and her remains were transferred there on 3 October 1260 from the church of St George, also in Assisi. Her bones are now in the crypt at the Basilica, having been rediscovered in 1850.
This is the church that the faith and popular piety have erected in honor of the first and most faithful disciple of Saint Francis. The Basilica was built next to the ancient church of San Giorgio, the site of the first burial of both Saint Francis in 1226 and Saint Clare in 1253.
27 de mar. de 2018 · The Basilica of Santa Chiara, the largest Gothic church in Naples, with the adjoining monastery, was built between 1310 and 1328 by Robert of Anjou, on Roman baths of the first century AD, near the west wall of the city. Located in the Piazza del Gesù Nuovo in front of the Church of Jesus it was included in the convent of the Poor Clares adjacent.
